About Sedgman Silverstri

Keith Sedgman, BA, Grad Dip Couns, BA, Master of Soc Sciences, Accredited Family Therapist, has undertaken expert reports for Family Law and Child Protection matters, as well as individual, couple and family counselling and mediation in welfare, health and legal settings for 40 years.

Keith has published a book, “Parables and Probables” and a number of peer-reviewed journal articles. He has presented to State, National and International conferences and is a past recipient of a Chief Justice of the FCA Scholarship. Keith is a member of Counselling and Family Therapy professional bodies, a former Deputy-Director and Acting Director of the Family Court [FCA] Brisbane Registry Counselling Section, a former member of the Children’s Services Tribunal [CST] and the Social Security Appeals Tribunal [SSAT].
Keith is a long-standing Regulation 7 Family Consultant, accredited by the Family & Federal Circuit Courts. Keith Sedgman is a nationally accredited mediator and approved family dispute resolution provider which enables him to issue Section 60I Certificates.

Grace Silvestri, BA, Grad Dip Education, Cert IV Training and Assessment, Master of Social Work, Grad Dip of Family Dispute Resolution, joined Sedgman & Associates Counselling Services in 2009.

Grace currently undertakes, with Keith, conjoint couples counselling, family counselling, and mediation and Family Dispute Resolution (FDR) in parenting matters. Grace Silvestri is a nationally accredited mediator and approved family dispute resolution provider which enables her to issue Section 60I Certificates.  Grace also undertakes Separate Representative-referred Social Assessment Reports for the Children’s Court as her availability allows.
Emanating from her previous role as Principal of Brisbane City Children’s Contact Services at Woolloongabba, facilitating parent-child supervised contact visits, and restorative parent-child therapy, with reports provided, as sought, by the Court and/or Independent Children’s Lawyers, Grace initiated a psycho-educational program which has been taken up by ICL’s and Court.  This psycho-educational program assists families, where a nominated volunteer supervisor is educated about the skills and knowledge required to facilitate contact between children and the non-resident parent and to safeguard and promote the welfare of the children involved.
